Southern Illinois, Carbondale Gains A Pitcher for 1999!

Congratulations to Katie Kloess who has just accepted a scholarship for 1999 to Division I Southern Illinois University at Carbondale. Her mother, Mary Kloess, is the softball coach at Althoff High School in Belleville, Illinois where Katie goes to school.


Syracuse University (Division I) To Sign Illinois Pitcher
Julie Dunn, a pitcher from Springfield, Illinois, has just been offered a scholarship to Division I Syracuse University. Congratulations Julie and best of luck in your college career!

Kacie Flinn - Sophomore Sensation Pitches Team to Missouri Class 4A State Championship!

Kacie Flinn led her Rockwood Summit High School Softball Team to the Class 4A Missouri Softball State Championship on 10/20/1998. This is quite an accomplishment because Kacie is just a sophomore. She pitched 62 shutout innings before giving up a run & the team won 6 games in post season to capture the State Title. Kacie was also chosen as the South Suburban Conference Player of the Year and named All Conference Pitcher & All District Pitcher for 1998. She was also given the team's 110% award for pitching in 27 ball games this season. You can visit her website at Kacie's Fastpitch Page. Jenny Rice struck out 294 batters in 27 games (fall '98) (Missouri High Schools play fall ball)

Jenny also pitches for her competitive fastpitch team, the Missouri Maniacs 18u (St. Louis, MO).
